The highest peak of Karnataka Mullayanagiri. Located in the picturesque place of Chikmagalur, Karnataka. As you can see the pic this place is located at 6300.17 feet above the sea level and you can literally feel that when you climb the mountain. You can actually see the clouds below you. This is one of the must visit places of Karnataka in Chikmagalur district.

The distance approx from Bangalore is approx 280 kms. Head straight from Bengaluru on Mangalore highway. Then go straight to Chikmagalur town. Follow the road, which goes towards National Highway 234. Drive to Mulayanagiri road. Route to be followed. Bangalore to nelamangala beforenelamangala turn left onto Mangalore road. Then head straight to Hassan and via Belur head to Chikmagalur then mulayanagiri road.

Places you can visit en route Mulayanagiri. Yediyur siddalingeshwara temple(100 kms from Bangalore) (Accommodations are available in the temple guest houses), Belur and halebiduShravanabelagola (you have to take diversion of 15kms from Chanarayapatna) There are no buses to Mullayanagiri. Local taxis are available. Before Mulayanagiri, you can visit sithayalanagiri en routeThere is a Shiva temple at this place and interested persons can visit and accommodation will be provided to people. Please contact the temple priest and in winter it would be too cold. If you are staying at this temple. Please carry necessary clothes and blankets. No food is available in the hills and surrounding areas.
Please carry food and potable drinking water .Mulaiyanagiri is located in the midst of forests. Where the roads are narrow and steep and the roads are in bad condition on the hills.
Best time to visit September to May. During Rainy season. It's not advisable to visit this place because of frequent landslides. Accommodation available inChikmagalur and there are home stays available in the city as well.

The top of the hill is where guru or (Swamiji in  Kannada) Melu gadrighe mullappa Swamy had meditated here and he was buried alive on the top of the hill. It's believed that he is still alive at the top of the hill in the temple and He performs miracles to his devotees. Annual fair is held during the March month. Nearest hospital in case of emergency Chikmagalur town.
Kundadri the beautiful hills located in Karnataka,Shimoga district. This is around 78 kms from Udupi. This is one of the beautiful hill located in the Western ghats. This hill is covered with pleasant weather round the year. There is a Jain temple on the top of the hill. The temple is open between morning and closes in the evening by 5 pm.
This hill is surrounded by dense forests, which is home to elephants, bisons and wild animals. If you are lucky you may see these animals on the road. There is a road, which goes till the top of the hill. The road was in ok condition, when I visited last time. How to reach Kundadri hills. This hill can be reached by own vehicles. Accommodation available only at Thirthahalli and no hotels are available on the top.

This is a must visit place if you want to enjoy the nature and the sunset or sunrise. There are direct buses available from Bangalore to Shimoga and there is a train available to Shimoga as well. Then buses are available to tirthahalli. Then you may have to hire local taxis. People are friendly and helpful. There are no eateries available at the top. Please carry food items from the nearby town. Please don't litter in the beautiful place. Wild animals come to drink water in the lake.

jaramadagu falls

Jaramadagu waterfalls.

​This seasonal waterfalls is located near Chikballapur.


The waterfall falls from a height of around 50 feet and It is located in a small shrub forest. frequented by visitors during the rainy season. The waterfall is a treat to watch located in the midst of small shrub forest. This is around 20 kms from chikballapur. Which is u have to take diversion to left after reaching chikballapur and then head to ketanahalli.


3 kms of trek has to be done. Trek difficulty easy and no shops and food stalls available. Please carry food and water and travel in group of 4 to 5 people.

Parking facility and washroom facility not available.

Nearest Restaurant Kamat hotels on Bangalore  Hyderabad highway.

Better to carry food cooked. As this hotel doesnt serve the tasty food.

Best time to visit  July to December.

Bangalore to Jaramadagu distance 90 kms approx.

Nagamale

Nagamale, The hill located in the ghats of MM hills. (Naga means Snakemale means hill) in Kannada. It literally means Snake hill. You can see the two rocks separated on Nagamale.

Nagamale is located near MM hills and MM hills or male mahadeshwara hills. This is located around 220 kms from Bangalore and a nice place to visit. Its well connected by bus and you can get private vehicles to visit this place. To reach nagamale you have tworoutes, one is from Karnataka and other one is fromTamilnadu.
Most of the visitors prefer a Karnataka side to visit this famous place. To reach Nagamale take kanakapuraroad from Bangalore and then reach Caligula. Then head directly to MM hills. MM hills are around 220 kms and once you reach there u can take rest or head to Nagamale. Famous male mahadeshwara temple Mahadeshwara is believed to be an incarnation of lord Shiva, who had done many miracles to local tribes. At Nagamale Lord mahadeshwara did penance and even today, it's believed that he roams around these hilly areas on the back of the tiger.


To head to Nagamale which is located in the midst ofa forestyou need to take a jeep which generally ferries passengers from antara gange behind the temple to the half way mark. The jeep travels around 5 kms through one of the roads of mud track and the jeeps are as new as 30 to 40 years old.

Once you get into the jeep the jeep will drop youaround 5 kms. From where you need to walk through another 8 kms. There is a walking path which has been made for the purpose of the visitors. There is a lonely village known as Nadumale. From this village its another hike of 1.5 km, where you reach the famous Nagamale. Trek Difficulty is moderate.
Shops are available on the entire route and last shop available is at nadumale. If you are planning to stay at Nadumale. There is a free hall provided by the temple Priest to visitors, where you can stay for the night. Food can be ordered at hotels, where only vegetarian food is served and No washrooms available here in this place. Locals transport goods on the backs ofdonkeys. Even if somebody is ill, 4 people carry them to MM hills. They have to walk all the way 8 kms and then catch a jeep and then go to the hospital.
Nice place to visit. Not advised to walk during night time has this part is infested with lots of Elephants and sloth bears. If you're lucky enough, you may  see an elephant on the path. This place is one of the beautiful places in Karnataka, From the top of Nagamale you can see the Mettur dam and Cauveryriver. If you love trekking you enjoy nature this is the place to be
 Why wait head to nagamale. Buses Available from Bangalore and Mysore. Nearest Hospital MM Hills or Gopinatham. Best Time to Visit Anytime.

kurudumale or kudumale

Kurudumale is a small hamlet located Near Mulbagal town of Karnataka. Earlier it was known as Kudumale, Now it's known as Kurudumale. The kurudumale  is known for Ganesha temple. According to the beliefs. The Trimurthys (Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) Established the Lord Ganesha statue around 5000 years back and then killed a demon. This statue is very Unique and the stone is made of Saligrama. This statue is made of saligrama and believed to be the biggest saligrama statue. Ganesha statue is one of the biggest statues in Karnataka.
Ganesha is one of the revered gods and this place is around 12 kms from Mulbagal. Total distance fromBangalore to Kurudumale is approx 117 kms. It is believed that Koundinya Rishi (sage) visits temple at midnight to perform Pooja. Near the temple there is a small hill and a cave where Koundinya statue is kept inside the cave.
People believe that sleeping in the cave helps to cure many diseases and bad luck. However, on personal front. I have experienced lots of benefits after visiting the temple. Near the temple there is a Somashwara temple. ​Special Pooja and homes are conducted by Priests in the temple. Temple opens timings 7-2 and 5-8.30 pm
How to reach Bangalore to Mulbagal. KSRTC buses are there and every one hour, a bus departs to Kurudumale from Mulbagal. Places near KurudumaleYou can also visit Garuda temple near Kurudumale. The village name is Kolladevi and 18 kms from Mulbagal.
